- Biography -
Makoto first appeared in episode 25, “Power Girl in Love, Jupiter-chan!” Usagi is on her way to school but runs into some guys who start giving her trouble. Makoto steps in and knocks them down to the ground. Usagi thanks her and Makoto leaves. Later in the day, Usagi sees Makoto sitting down having lunch and drools while watching her eat her food. Makoto turns around and Usagi introduces herself. Makoto invites her to sit down and offers some of her lunch to Usagi. Usagi tells Makoto how great of a cook she is and becomes friends with her. After school, Usagi brings Makoto to the Crowne Arcade to play video games. Usagi introduces Makoto to Rei and Ami and while they are talking to each other, they overhear a commotion coming from one of the games. The girls walk over and watch a guy named Joe use a crane to grab various stuffed animals from a machine. Makoto instantly falls for him because he reminds her of an old sempai. After he finishes, he leaves and Makoto and Usagi follow him. On his way home, Zoisite attacks him and tries to obtain his Nijizuishou crystal inside him. Makoto prevents Zoisite from taking it so he leaves. The guy runs off as well, so Makoto and Usagi follow him again. Zoisite attacks again and steals his Nijizuishou crystal. Joe turns into a Youma and fights Makoto. Makoto’s planetary symbol appears on her forehead and Luna tells her to use her henshin pen to transform into Sailorjupiter. Makoto transforms, uses her “Supreme Thunder” attack, and Sailormoon uses her new crescent wand to restore him into a human being again.
Makoto falls in love very easily which causes her to get hurt easily. She falls for any guy that reminds her of an old sempai she once had who broke her heart. She fell in love with Motoki when she first met him and was upset when she learned he already had a girlfriend. She also fell for an ice-skater but was heart broken when she learned he was being controlled by the Dark Kingdom. She never grasps any one guy in the series for too long but enjoys looking for them. In the third season, Makoto meets Haruka. She was immediately amazed by Haruka’s strength, durability, and speed. Whenever Haruka was around, Makoto was in complete awe of Haruka and really looked up to her. When she was getting to know Haruka, her fellow senshi wondered if Makoto really knew Haruka was a girl. One time, they even asked her if she had a crush on Makoto; she dismissed it saying she just had a lot of respect for her.
Makoto is a very physical person. She is great at every sport, especially karate. She studies really hard to become better and even went as far as traveling to the mountains to train with a priest to become stronger and more disciplined. When Makoto isn’t training to be stronger or participating in various sports, Makoto expresses her feminine side; which she does when she is tending to her garden, swooning over boys, or cooking. Makoto is an amazing cook and even tries her best to teach the other senshi how to cook, although it doesn’t really work. She also had the opportunity to get on a cooking show with Taiki from the Three Lights in one episode where she helped him make a cake. Makoto also got to join the garden club where she got to hang out with other people interested in plants and flowers.
As Sailorjupiter, Makoto relies on her strength and powerful attacks to take out an opponent. When she fully concentrates, she has the ability to take out an enemy on her own. In the third season she was able to defeat a Daimon by herself after a long day of training. In the previous episode she tried to defeat an enemy with her “Sparkling Wide Pressure” attack but it failed. Makoto was upset and decided she needed to further train herself. She went to the mountains and trained with a priest so she could power herself up. While she was there, the priest was attacked by a Daimon and his Heart Crystal was taken away. Makoto transformed and tried to defeat the Daimon with her attack. The Daimon shot her attack back at her and the other senshi, injuring them badly. The senshi begged her to let them work with her as a team and Sailorjupiter agreed. They combined their powers and were able to break free from its grip. She then cleared her mind and used her attack on the Daimon. The Daimon tried to reflect it but it over powered the Daimon and killed it.

Jupiter Power, Make-Up
Makoto says this to transform into the powerful Sailorjupiter. She was the fourth senshi to
receive her powers from Luna. Makoto was being attacked by a Youma, but when Luna saw her
planetary symbol glowing, she gave Makoto her henshin pen and told her to transform into
Sailorjupiter.
Supreme Thunder
Sailorjupiter uses this attack to electrocute various enemies. A lightning rod emerges
from her tiara and collects lightning around it. The lightning surrounds her body, and then
she directs the lightning at the enemy.
Jupiter Star Power, Make-Up
This is Sailorjupiter's second transformation. After a few battles with some really strong
Cardians, Luna and Artemis felt it was time to power up the senshi. Sailorjupiter's
transformation is almost identical, however she poses in front of a Jupiter symbol in the
end.
Supreme Thunder Dragon
Sailorjupiter uses this attack to engulf her enemy in electricity. This attack is almost
identical to her "Supreme Thunder" attack. However in the end, the streams of electricity
change into a dragon and it swallows the enemy. This attack was only used once
Sparkling Wide Pressure
Sailorjupiter's lightning rod emerges from her tiara and collects mass amounts of electricity;
which are compressed into a small powerful shaped disc. She then hurls the electric disc at
the target which has the power to stun or destroy it.
Jupiter Crystal Power, Make-Up
This is Sailorjupiter's third transformation. Her Star Pen was upgraded by Pegasus
because her previous form was not strong enough. He gave her this power after she put her
trust in him. The transformation sequence ends with her in front of a ring of leaves.
Jupiter Oak Revolution
Sailorjupiter uses her electric power in the form of leaves. She puts her hand down as her
henshin symbol appears. She spins around as leaves swirl around her body and electricity
gathers in her tiara. She continues to spin as the electric leaves emit from her body and
attack the enemy.
