Down the corridors, the princess walked
slowly and ladylike. Her dress flowing magnificently, while her dark green hair rapidly
blew in the nightly wind. Her dark red eyes sparkled like fire as the bright white moon
gazed upon her. Her high heels were easily noticeable as she walked on the hard concrete
floors of the Earth palace. Her heart rapidly pounding as she neared Endymion's chambers;
afraid of the consequences but also delighted to see his lovely face once more. She knew
that her undying love for him was unrequited and she would soon have to stay away from him
forever because she knew he had his eye on another girl; a girl who was much more elegant
and beautiful then her and she knew for sure that they're love was unbreakable for times
to come.
She softly knocked on the marble-like
door, and heard a reply. "Come in" the man whispered lovingly.
As she opened the door, the door squeaked a bit, and then swayed open. "Hello
Endymion" she said softly and unclearly. "It has been a long time since we have
spoken to one another, is there something you are not telling me? Is there someone else in
your eyes, that you aimlessly talk about in your sleep? Onegai Endymion, tell me what is
troubling you, which cause your eyes to water, and your heart to ache?" He turned
his head away from her and said, "Hai, there is someone else I have
been watching...A princess who's hair blows freely in the nightly wind, a lady who is very
respected by all the other Royal courts all over the Galaxy...a gi" "A
girl like Princess Serenity?" "Is that the girl who you are madly in love with? Oh Endymion,
tell me it isn't true? The Moon and Earth are always at war, this love might bring more chaos
and wars." "Please Endymion, try to reconsider this situation...."
"No!" He spoke up with a harsh voice, "Serenity
and I are made for each other! We are two soul mates, bound together by this undying fire that
burns so deep between us" "But how is it possible for you two
different people to come together and visit each other" "I mean as we speak the Earth and the
Moon are in a state of frenzy, and no one from the Moon or Earth can trust each other" "At least
many of the Earthly people can trust the citizens from Pluto" A few tears trickled down
her dark rosy face and dropped to the ground. She walked closely to his bed and kneeled to the
side of it. She held her trembling hand to Endymion and tried to raise a smile to him.
"What is your choice?" "You know what my choice
is Setsuna-san, it is my dear love...Serenity." He pulled his hand away from hers
and turned to the other side of the bed while a few dry tears trickled down his pale
face. "Setsuna-san, I would like you to leave now and..." His throat
a little unclear, "never return to my chambers in this ill-fashioned manner" Her
voice trembly and her hands shaking, she gets up and opens his chamber door once more.
"Good-bye Endymion, for I shall miss you forever."
Setsuna leaves his room and the door
squeaks a bit more as she closes it. Her heels sharply hit the floor with every step she
makes while running down the corridor. Her dress rapidly sways back and forth as her hair
flows rapidly in the wind. She is heard by many of the guards; crying and muttering words
to herself as she leaves the palace. Her body turns to a deep purple ball of light and
flashes away into the starry night, only to return to her own palace bedroom. She nestles
her body inside her bed still dressed and still crying; tightly holding to a pillow and
softly chewing on her hair. "Oh Endymion, I will miss you...I will
miss you..." She quickly falls asleep on a tear trenched pillow, snuggled up into a
ball.
In Endymion's chambers the man was still
awake; the time read 3 a.m. and everyone was happily asleep from a long days of work.
"Why...why was I so harsh to Setsuna. I shouldn't of came out so
badly....demo, I do really love Princess Serenity" His mind was pacing with thoughts
that wouldn't allow his heavy eyes to close for the night. He got up and shivered,
"Tonight is a very cold night, especially for an October night like
this." He wrapped a long silk robe around his slender body and opened his doors. He w
alked outside in his flower garden and sat on an old wooden bench that creaked when he sat on it.
"The moon is very bright and beautiful, I wish I could visit it and visit
my love."
Just then, a bright light engulfed the garden
house and a lady stepped out with long hair as bright as the sun that touched her ankles. Her hair
was done up in Odango, a typical style that was worn by royalty on the moon. Her dress was as white as
snow and an elegant hand wore a golden bead bracelet that shined brightly by the eerie light. Just
then two royal blue eyes appeared from the light and a soft hand covered them to block the emitting
light. She stepped out of the light and ran up into Endymion's arms. "Oh Endymion,
it has been a long time since we have last talked, how are you my darling?" Her voice fluttered
like she had just woken up. Endymion's eyes grew bigger as a big smile swept across his face.
"Oh Serenity, I'm glad you are here; I have missed you terribly. Yes I have been
doing well, even though there are so many damn war threats." "We need to come out with our secret love
to stop these wars." Serenity replied with a steady voice, "I wish it was
that easy, but I'm afraid it isn't. As much as I want to, I feel our two worlds could never approve."
She nodded the thought away, looked up at him, and nestled him with kisses. "Endymion,
aishiteru!" She giggled to herself and Endymion brought her back to his chambers. He closed the doors
and they paced to his bed undressing slowly. They both laid down on it and snuggled together.
Dawn approached and a quiet knock was heard on the prince's
door. "Your highness, it is time to wake up; there are many things to do today!"
Endymion snapped back, "I understand, I will be up in a few, but please do not enter this
room; I am not fit to be seen at the moment." "Yes your highness, I will have the
servants make you some breakfast." "Arigatou" He unlocked his bare arms and
legs from Serenity's, which immediately woke her up. "Is it time for me to go sweetie?"
"Hai, it is; how can you leave without being noticed?" "The same
way I got here; I have the power to teleport. It's the same way other princesses of other planets get around."
She picked up her night dress from the cold bare floor and had Endymion dress it up for her. "I
do really love you, my Endymion!" She smiled, gave him a kiss, and the same big ball of light flashed leaving no
one behind. I love you too Serenity...
Back on the planet Pluto, a knock was heard and a small envelope was
slipped under Setsuna's door. She got up from her bed; her face drizzled with tears and her make-up smeared all
over. She swept it off her face and picked up the envelope. It was addressed from the moon palace with the royal seal
stamped on the back. She quickly ripped it open and skimmed through it. As she neared the end, she dropped to the
floor. The letter had asked her if she would take the responsibility to guard the gates of time till the wars had ended.
She cried some more, but knew it would be the only way for her to get away, and get over Endymion. She slipped off her
wrinkly dress and got in the shower. The hot water stabbed at her body, but she was too emotional to care about it. After
washing out her long dark green hair, she stepped out of the shower and placed a bath robe around herself. She grabbed an
extra towel and wrapped it around her hair while she busily searched around for her most elegant dress. She didn't want
to portray a poor appearance for the Queen of the moon. "Ahh here it is" She gently took
it out of her closet, slipped off her bath robe, and snuggled it around herself. "Such a beautiful
dress," she sighed softly and undid her hair towel. She brushed out her elegant hair and opened her door to the
rest of her beautiful kingdom.
She ran down stairs, fixed something to drink while her cheerful mother
was cooking up some delicious dish for her wonderful daughter. "Oh Mom your the best!"
"You are too! Oh by the way did you get that letter from the Moon Kingdom? What did they say dear?
Any good news about the wars?" "No, Mom, they have asked me to guard the Gates of
Time" "Nani? You have to be kidding? First they ask you, Haruka-san, and Michiru-san, to block
the Outer Solar System, and now they are going to lock you up in a place where you won't see the light of day again for at
least 100 years? This is torture! You know I will miss you dearly!" "I will miss you too, but
it is only till the wars are finished!" She quickly downed her breakfast and got completely ready.
"Momma, I'm ready! I will tell you what happens!" She faked a smile to her, and a ball of
purple light blew her away to the Moon Kingdom.
She went up the marble steps and knocked dreadfully on the rocky doors.
The doors creaked open and a servant's eyes lit up as he saw her walking through. He greeted Princess Setsuna promptly
with a bright smile. "Welcome Princess Setsuna-san, Queen Serenity has been waiting for you; right
this way please!" She walked with him and was softly greeted by the queen. Setsuna made a polite curtsy and looked
up at Queen Serenity shyly. "You have called me Queen Serenity?" "Yes
I have Setsuna. You have been called to serve the Moon Kingdom in a very important way." "I require you to do this task,
which you have already been informed of because I believe you will be the best at it." "You are a very dedicated person
and I am very confident you will be the best person to guard the Gates of Time." Setsuna sadly agreed with the
idea, and smiled sheepishly. "Ha, your majesty, it would be an honor to guard the Gates of
Time!" "I am glad you agree, dear Setsuna!" "Demo, before I give you these powers, there are
3 taboos you cannot break! #1. You can NOT leave these Gates till I have relieved you of your duty! #2. You are forbidden
to stop the flow of time #3. You may not freely travel through time! If any of these taboos are broken, your punishment
is death!" Setsuna gulped and replied softly, "Yes your highness, I promise to follow these
taboos." "Good!" Queen Serenity replied in a sharp, but pleasant voice.
"Now on with the powers you will need to effectively guard the Gates of Time. You have your henshin
lip stick and with that I give you the Time Key. Attached to the Time Key is the Garnet Orb, a powerful talisman that
will help you in your mission. Also, I am giving you time keys which will aid you in accessing the time portal. These items
will be very useful for you, so please use them wisely. I'm counting on you Setsuna, don't let me down!"
"I won't your majesty." A servant brought a tiny glass case to her, which had her respected
planet symbol engraved on the glittery glass. She opened it up, picked up the keys from the velvet cloth that appraised
them. Another servant came up to her and handed her the gleaming Time staff. She took it from him and put it in one hand.
She thanked Queen Serenity again for this mission and an orb of purple light beamed her away, back to her palace.
After her mother heard the news, she hugged, kissed, and wished her
daughter well. Setsuna held up her henshin stick and yelled, "Pluto Planet Power...Make-Up!"
She transformed and placed the keys around her stomach. She twirled around as the keys chimed while resting on her skirt
gently. She snatched her Time Staff abruptly and kissed her parents good-bye. The ball of purple light engulfed her again
and she appeared in the Gates of Time; never to be relieved of duty and forever to be stuck there for centuries to come.
