Return Address Labels
To begin this project open up Microsoft Word. If you do not have Microsoft Word, then please use the images below and try to figure out how to do them on another program. Please follow the instructions carefully below.
1. After opening up Microsoft Word click on the Tools button on
the top. Then click on Letters and Mailings, after that finally click
on Envelopes and Labels.
- Example
2. Type in your address.
- Example
3. Click on the label box, and a new window will popup. Select which
kind of labels you have. Afterwards select ok, and you are back at the
previous window.
- Example
4. Press New Document and the whole document should have your
name and address on it. You can now either select the whole document and
change the text and color, or you can use one of the pictures below. If you
choose to just select the text and change the text and color then you need
to go to Format and then click on Font. There you can change
anything you want on there. After you are done changing your font and color
just press the OK button.
- Example
5. After reviewing the project, press File and
then Print. Afterwards just hit OK. If this is all you wanted
to do, then you are done. If you want to use the images below, then ignore
everything after pressing the New Document button.
- Example
6. Choose which picture you like the best or be crazy and use them
all. Open up your favorite paint program and open up the picture you want to
use. Click on the text tool and type in your name and address. Don't forget
to choose your favorite font and with the knowledge you have, change the way
the font looks. After you are done, save the picture to your computer.
- Example
7. Now, this is the boring part...Go back to Microsoft Word, and look
at all the name and addresses. There should be 3 per line. But it can depend
on what kind of address label you have. Highlight one name and address and go
to Insert, Picture, then From File. Find the image you
just saved and click on it. Press the OK button, and the image should
have replaced the text.
- Example
8. Repeat this process until all of the names and addresses are
replaced with the images. Make sure you don't accidentally delete any spaces.
Just highlight and replace the text.
- Example
9. After you have replaced every one go to File, Print.
Press the OK button, and the labels should print out. If they are not
aligned correctly on the label, try deleting the spaces between the labels.
- Example
10. After that you are all set. Don't forget to save the document. That way when you run out of labels, you don't need to follow all of these steps again. Enjoy these and have fun!
